Having access to clean drinking water and having a system in place to filter contaminated water is an important, if not the most important aspect of prepping. Regardless of how much water you stockpile using a reliable and clean source before the crisis; you have to plan for the eventual depletion of your water source.
This means you will have to collect and purify a source, a surface water source that may very well be contaminated. The AquaBrick™ Water Filtration System is ideal for anyone needing a way to eliminate contaminates from water to make it safe to drink in any survival situation or emergency. With aging water pipes and contaminates from the pipes themselves it is important that you have a system in place to filter even your very own tap water.
Remember Flint Michigan and other municipalities. Your tap water can become contaminated at any time for any number of reasons.
The AquaBrick™ Water Filtration System works with the DuraFlo™ Filter, so it couldn’t be any easier to store the AquaBrick™ Container and have the ability to purify a water source. Fill the Bricks with contaminated water and pump clean water out of the bricks ready for drinking.
The AquaBrick™ system is perfect for those that need safe water storage containers and has limited space in which to store water. The Bricks can be stored anywhere. Stackable with sturdy carrying handles the bricks are easily transported anywhere, and with the DuraFlo system in place, you never have to worry about running out of safe drinking water.
You will have to determine how many filters you would need to see you through a crisis. After all, 550 gallons, while a considerable amount of water won’t last forever. You have to assume you would not have any drinking water stockpiled, so start from zero stored when calculating how many filters you would need.

Testing the Filters
In particular, testing to see if the filters can make swimming pool water safe to drink and the testing shows that yes the DuraFlo™ filter cartridge removed soluble copper, which is commonly used as an algaecide. The filter also removed Chloramines. The testing was based on 500 gallons, which were filtered from simulated swimming pool water.
A swimming pool in an emergency is a drinking water source, but it must be treated first to make it safe to drink. This is particularly true if the pool is not your own. You simply have no idea what contaminants may be in the water.
Kit Includes:
