Now I know your first response to this article is probably going to be Ewwww! That’s gross! I know it was mine when I first heard about the DivaCup, but then I began to think about it more. Yes tampons have many uses in a survival situation besides doing there main job. But more importantly the real question is, how many will you have to stock up on in a true shtf situation? You can only carry so many in your bug out bag, eventually you will run out. So your next option would be to make a pad from a fabric material, but will you really be able to keep them clean and sanitary?
Thats where the DivaCup, in my opinion, out shines tampons and pads. Yes, initially it may sound a little gross, however not only is it reusable and can be cleaned with boiling water, but it could also save you about $100-$150 dollars a year. Now just think, what other preps could you buy with an extra $150 dollars? More food for your family? Seeds for your garden? There are many other benefits to using the DivaCup but however I’m not going to get into the details here, I’ll let you ladies read about those on the DivaCup Website.
The lifespan of the DivaCup varies depending upon how well and how often the cup is cleaned. According to the makers of the DivaCup, as a general guideline should be replaced once a year, but ultimately, it is up to the consumer to decide when it is necessary to replace the cup.
